Yu-Chun "Pony" Ma, also known as Yu-Chan Ma, is a Taiwanese contemporary artist specializing in pop surrealism. Born and raised in Taipei City, Taiwan, he displayed early artistic talent, beginning to draw at age 5 and creating his own comic books by second grade. He grew up drawing manga and was particularly interested in art class during school, often helping decorate classrooms. At age 24, he moved to New York City, where he rediscovered his passion for art, studied illustration at the Fashion Institute of Technology, and developed expertise in acrylic painting influenced by pop surrealism.[1][2][5]
