About

Vorja Sánchez is a Barcelona-based, full-time contemporary artist renowned for his intricate, dreamlike compositions that merge fantasy with scientific observation, inspired by nature, organic forms, ancestral myths, and 19th-century biologists like Ernst Haeckel. Growing up surrounded by the open landscapes of rural Spain, he developed a deep fascination with natural patterns, balance, and the hidden life in elements like clouds and forests, which he brings to life through surreal illustrations of hybrid creatures, ecosystems, and whimsical beasts. His process involves drawing over photographs of skies and landscapes or creating mixed-media works with graphite, ink, watercolor, gouache, and spray paint, allowing materials and motifs to evolve organically rather than imposing control.
