About

Troy Coulterman is a Canadian sculptor born in Arnprior, Ontario, who has established himself as a notable figure in the contemporary art scene. He holds a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree in sculpture from the University of Regina and has since relocated to Guelph, Ontario. Beyond his primary work as an artist, Coulterman has contributed to various sectors including art foundries specializing in casting, television production, and the film industry. Coulterman's artistic practice centers on creating three-dimensional human figures characterized by vivid color palettes, exaggerated features, and dynamic forms directly influenced by graphic novels. His sculptures feature absurd and abstract forms that engulf, drip, and extrude from the figures, serving as visual metaphors for emotional states and anomalies. His work has gained significant recognition, with pieces included in numerous group exhibitions and solo shows across Canada and the United States, including cities such as Toronto, Portland, San Diego, and Regina.
