Contemporary Surrealism Oil painting

About

Svetoslav Stoyanov is a contemporary Bulgarian painter born in Gabrovo, Bulgaria, who began painting from an early age under the influence of his artist uncle.[1] Initially inspired by nature and traditional Bulgarian architecture, he later developed a passion for rock music and surrealism, beginning his professional painting career in 1992.[1][2] For 15 years, he balanced his artistic practice with playing keyboards in a rock band while exhibiting in galleries throughout Bulgaria.[1][2] In 2007, Stoyanov relocated to London, where he continues to work from his studio in the South West part of the city.[2] His artistic philosophy emphasizes freedom of thought and imagination, using oil on canvas to create surrealist compositions that blend realistic features within imaginary contexts.[2] He has received recognition from the International Confederation of Art Critics (ICAC) and maintains an active exhibition schedule across Europe.[2]
