Ruben Cukier
About
Ruben Cukier is an Argentine surrealist artist born and raised in Buenos Aires in 1964. He is self-taught and began painting at approximately age five, discovering painting as a form of personal communication and inner expression. His work is characterized by the use of colors and shades that reveal a yearning for a less superficial reality, with forms and dimensions that give shape to dreams and nightmares while alluding to notions of hope. Cukier has worked extensively as a storyboard designer, internet designer, and illustrator across multiple countries, including Spain and Israel, where he currently resides. His surrealist style, while reminiscent of artists like DalĂ and Bottero, communicates his own unique concerns and sensibilities, employing humor to reflect fears, habits, and desires that are often suppressed.
Contemporary surrealism with dreamlike and nightmarish imagery; known for 'bio constructions'
