Peter Mohrbacher
About
Peter Mohrbacher is a contemporary surrealist artist, concept artist, and illustrator best known as the creator of the Angelarium project, which he started in 2005 inspired by thousands of named angels from various mythologies. He personifies abstract concepts like 'Mystery,' 'Dust,' or 'Memory' into faceless, symbolic angelic figures, blending realistic portrayals with surreal, dreamlike imagery to evoke personal interpretations and emotions. Initially influenced by anime such as Evangelion and artists like Brom and Zdzisław Beksiński, his work explores the subconscious through drawing, mythology, and spirituality, often accompanying pieces with poetry and storytelling.[1][2][3][4][6][7]
