Mohammad Zaza
About
Mohammad Zaza is a Syrian visual artist born in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in 1987 to Syrian parents in an artistic family, where he began drawing and painting at an early age. After completing high school in Saudi Arabia, he moved to Syria in 2005 or 2006 to study at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Aleppo University, graduating top of his class in 2010. He held his first solo exhibition in 2008 and served as a painting teaching assistant at the university until 2012. Due to the Syrian conflict, he became itinerant, living in Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt, Istanbul (for several years), Brussels, and later Lausanne, Switzerland, while exhibiting internationally.
Contemporary Surrealism, focusing on dreamscapes that reinvent reality through compressed perspectives, circular gravity, perpetual movement, and themes of nature, humanity, and spirituality.
