Michael Reedy
Contemporary Surrealism PaintingDrawing
About
Michael Reedy is a contemporary artist and professor specializing in drawing and painting, with a focus on the human figure. He explores themes of life, death, the human condition, and the physical limits of the body, drawing from anatomical illustration, medical imaging, and cartooning to blend scientific aura, moral lessons, and morbid entertainment. His work challenges boundaries between interior and exterior, looking and feeling, real and pictured body, often infusing comedic tragedy into depictions of frailty, gender, pleasure, and pain.[1][2][4][5]
