Marion Peck
About
Marion Peck is an American artist born in Manila, Philippines, on October 3, 1963, while her family was traveling the world, and raised in Seattle, Washington. She knew from a young age she wanted to be an artist, supported by nurturing parents, and began copying works by Botticelli and Raphael at age 8 or 9. Peck earned a BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design and pursued MFA studies at Syracuse University, New York, and Temple University in Rome, where she lived for several years absorbing Italian art, landscape, and culture. She is married to artist Mark Ryden, and their shared style places her at the forefront of the Pop Surrealism and Lowbrow art movements that emerged in Los Angeles in the late 1970s.
