Lola Mitchell is a fine art photographer born in Paris who has been based in Los Angeles since 1999. She grew up in a creative household where her father, Jorge Damonte, was a fashion and theater photographer, and her mother, Marcia Moretto, was a contemporary dancer. These dual influences—visual documentation and movement—profoundly shaped her artistic practice and are evident throughout her work. Mitchell creates surrealistic, feminine, and painterly photographs that blend fine art photography with digital manipulation. She began her career working exclusively on iPhone and iPad before transitioning to shooting with a professional DSLR (Nikon D810) and editing in Photoshop. Her practice is characterized by heavy digital manipulation and explores emotional and conceptual themes through imagery that often features both underwater and above-water compositions.
