About

Liz Huston is a self-taught contemporary mixed media artist based in Los Angeles, California, known for her surreal, symbolist works blending photography, digital manipulation via Photoshop, and traditional paints such as oils, acrylics, and watercolors. Originally a fine art and portrait photographer with a background in the music industry, she transitioned to full-time art after self-publishing her book 'Sacred New Orleans Funerary Grounds' in 2005, inspired by her infrared photography of New Orleans cemeteries. Her journey evolved from photomontage to mixed media, influenced by extensive esoteric studies including Tarot since 1993, shamanic practices with the Q'ero Paqos in Peru, and certifications in energy medicine from the Four Winds Society.[1][2][3][5]
