Larain Briggs
About
Larain Briggs is a British contemporary multi-disciplinary artist born in 1960, residing on the East Coast of the UK. She began painting as a child and exhibiting her work at age 14, growing up in Kent before moving to London to study fine art, painting at Camberwell College of Art, where she earned a BA (Hons) in Fine Art in 1991. Her formal training also included studies under a local artist in her twenties, a PGCE in Computer Aided Visualisation Art Education, Psychology at the University of East Anglia, and Art Therapy at Goldsmiths and the Institute for Art in Therapy and Education. Currently, she is pursuing a Fine Art Doctorate at the University of East London.
Contemporary surrealism with Jungian psychoanalytical influences, combining analogue and digital media to explore the subconscious, archetypes, the uncanny, and metamodern complexity theory.
