About

Lara Zankoul is a Lebanese multidisciplinary visual artist and self-taught photographer born in Beirut in 1987. After earning a degree in economics, she began her photography career around 2008, initially as a means of self-expression and escape from her job as an economics researcher and the challenges of living in a politically unstable country. She rose to prominence with her 2013 series *The Unseen*, featuring surreal, dreamlike images created with hand-crafted sets, soft pastel colors, and no digital manipulation, exploring themes of human emotions, the subconscious, psychology, and invisible concepts related to the soul.
