About
Kristen Egan is a mixed media artist based in Reading, Pennsylvania, specializing in contemporary folk art sculptures and masks that blend natural materials like locally sourced gourds, paperclay, acrylics, wood, leather, string, and bells. Her work draws from personal mythos inspired by Pennsylvania fauna, exploring themes of evolution, predator/prey relationships, dreams, and humanity's place in the universe, often merging tribal aesthetics with modern sensibilities. Living in a cabin off the Appalachian Trail in northern Berks County, she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BFA from SUNY College of Ceramics at Alfred University in 2007.
