About

Jud Turner is a contemporary sculptor born on November 17, 1969, in Eugene, Oregon, where he was raised by supportive parents who encouraged creativity and education. He has always engaged in drawing, painting, and sculpting to capture his experiences, receiving formal training in drawing and painting at the University of Oregon under professors Ron Graff and the late Frank Okada, earning a B.A. in Fine Arts in 1995. In the early 1990s, he shifted his primary focus to sculpture, specializing in direct welded steel work and found object assemblages, exploring themes such as the tension between humans and nature, biology and technology, and contradictions in form and scale.[1][2][3]

Contemporary surrealism blending human forms, nature, technology, and found objects with dichotomies like solid appearances from delicate wire.
