John M. Lally is a contemporary artist specializing in surrealism, imaginative realism, and narrative-driven oil paintings. Born and raised on Long Island, New York, he graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustration from the School of Visual Arts in 2005. Initially working in illustration, his practice shifted to fine arts around 2011, where he now paints exclusively in traditional oils, incorporating elements of long shadows, reflections, nightmares, and dreamscapes to create subtle narratives without explicit storytelling.[2][3][5]
