About

Jim Kazanjian is a Portland, Oregon-based contemporary artist specializing in surreal digital photomontages created through a technique he calls 'hyper-collage.' He blends up to fifty found photographs from online sources into single, homogenized images using Photoshop, without employing a camera. His process is improvisational and organic, driven by available source material from a library of approximately 25,000 images, resulting in surreal architectural structures that evoke horror, isolation, and otherworldly narratives influenced by sources like H.P. Lovecraft, M.R. James, and films such as The Shining.[1][2][4][7]
