Jessica Ng
About
Jessica Ng is a self-taught contemporary artist born in Hong Kong and raised in Sydney, Australia, after migrating there at a young age with her family. Professionally trained as a graphic and fashion designer at UNSW Art & Design and Fashion Design School (FDS) TAFE NSW, she worked briefly in the fashion industry before transitioning to art. Building an online following via Instagram, she launched her brand jb0xtchi selling prints and stationery, and held her first solo exhibition 'LONG NIGHTS' at Wedge Gallery in Sydney in 2019, marking her path to a full-time art career in 2021 with a shift to acrylics on canvas.
Contemporary surrealism featuring whimsical innocence juxtaposed with loneliness and darkness, anthropomorphic creatures, childlike characters inspired by fairy tales, fantasy, cartoons, anime, and childhood memories
