Jacob Holster
About
Jacob Holster is an Assistant Teaching Professor of Music Education at Pennsylvania State University, where he teaches courses on music teacher preparation, including a capstone for aspiring high school band directors, and advises student research projects. He earned his M.M.E. from the University of North Carolina, Greensboro, and his Ph.D. in Music Education from the University of Colorado, Boulder, focusing on the integration of artificial intelligence into teaching, learning, and research. His research interests include music teacher attrition, student motivation and well-being, AI in music education, and relational ethics, with publications in journals such as Update: Applications of Research in Music Education, Music Educators Journal, Psychology of Music, and others. He serves on the editorial board of Contributions to Music Education and is affiliated with the Penn State Institute for Computational Data Science.
