About
Helice Wen is a Chinese-American artist born and raised in Shenzhen, China, where she developed an early interest in art at age 5 by copying children's book illustrations. She moved to San Francisco at age 14, earned a BA in Illustration from the Academy of Art University in 2009, and initially worked as a children's book illustrator before transitioning to gallery-focused fine art. Residing and working in San Francisco, her practice explores intimate, vulnerable emotions in everyday life through figures and floral patterns, often within the Pop Surrealism genre.
