Contemporary Surrealism Stainless steel sculpture

About

Georgie Seccull is an Australian sculptor and installation artist based in Melbourne, specializing in large-scale stainless steel sculptures that transform rigid metal into fluid, organic expressions of animals and natural forms. Her work explores polarities in existence, such as chaos and order, darkness and light, weaving individual metal pieces into dynamic creatures like birds, felines, and mythical beings that appear in perpetual motion. Self-taught after leaving a career in advertising, she began creating for shop windows and exhibitions, evolving into meticulous hand-welded sculptures that reconcile opposing forces through a process akin to assembling a jigsaw puzzle from scattered energy.

Fluid, organic forms from welded metal strips evoking surreal motion and life force in animals and installations
