Clémentine Bal
About
Clémentine Bal is a French visual artist and sculptor born in Paris in 1979, who grew up between the mountains and seaside in Savoie. She graduated with a DNAP from the School of Fine Arts in Annecy in 2001 and also studied at Fine Arts in Dijon. After her studies, she worked in stage decoration for concerts and festivals across Europe from 2001 to 2006, followed by diverse experiences including animal husbandry and therapy focused on emotions from 2006 to 2011, which influenced her artistic approach. Now living in Val-Revermont, she creates imaginary characters through sculpture, blending natural forms into hybrid creatures, multi-colored mountains, volcanoes, and semi-human ghosts with clean lines, meditative expressions, and a childlike naivety that explore themes of childhood, family, friendship, animals, and emotional bonds.
Contemporary surrealism with clean lines, imaginary hybrid characters from nature, childlike naivety reflecting inner emotions
