About

Ciane Xavier is a Brazilian-born, self-taught sculptor, painter, and multimedia artist currently based in the Philippines. Originally from a small town in the countryside of South Brazil, specifically Dom Pedrito in Rio Grande do Sul, she began her career as a fashion model in her teens, living and working in over 14 countries including Hong Kong, New York, Tokyo, Singapore, Vancouver, and South Africa. This extensive travel profoundly influenced her art, leading to themes of identity loss, reconstruction, globalization, technology, and the human psyche, often depicted through grotesque, ambiguous figures blending power, fragility, and vulnerability.

Contemporary Surrealism exploring identity loss, human psyche, pop culture, and the fusion of technology with nature through grotesque, ambiguous figures.
