Casey Weldon
About
Casey Weldon is an American artist born in Southern California who has established himself as a prominent figure in contemporary pop surrealism. He studied at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena before establishing studios in Las Vegas and later relocating to Brooklyn, New York, where he currently resides and works as a full-time artist and illustrator. Weldon's artistic practice blends humor, melancholy, and the vibrant iconography of modern pop culture, creating dreamlike scenes that manipulate scale, contrast, and perspective to evoke nostalgia and otherworldly wonder. Known for his distinctive visual language that combines hand-painted fine art with popular media, Weldon has expanded his practice beyond traditional painting to include animated music videos and interdisciplinary projects. His work resonates with surrealist traditions while engaging with contemporary cultural commentary, earning him recognition as a key voice in the ongoing dialogue of post-pop surrealism. His paintings are characterized by saturated colors, idiosyncratic palette choices, and alternating moments of intense darkness and incandescent light.
