About

Carlos Solis is a Venezuelan-born contemporary surrealist artist known for his paintings that blend elements of nature, fauna, flora, and spiritual mythical themes, often exploring cultural diversity and environmental awareness in South America. His work features vivid colors, physical details, and ranges from beautiful and delicate to grotesque and unfamiliar, influenced by his experiences across South and North America. Solis founded the Latin American art group 'Contrapunto' in 2008 to promote contemporary Latin American artists from countries like Peru, Mexico, Colombia, and Venezuela, addressing the lack of Latino presence in Atlanta's art scene at the time.
