Juan Carlos Bracho
About
Juan Carlos Bracho is a Spanish artist born in La Línea de la Concepción, Cádiz, in 1970. He is known for his interdisciplinary practice that explores the relationship between space, time, and perception through drawing, installation, video, photography, sculpture, and performance. His work moves between minimalism and conceptual art, characterized by rigorous, repetitive gestures that create hypnotic visual experiences. Bracho's artistic philosophy centers on what he calls "experience through experience," positioning viewers as central to the artistic encounter and inviting them to confront their own perception of space and beauty. Early in his career, he collaborated extensively with artist Julia Rivera (1995–2022), a period that shaped his understanding of pictorial space and drawing as a means of recognition and appropriation.
