Carl Ingram is a New Zealand-based contemporary artist specializing in surreal, macabre, and often unsettling figurative oil paintings. He combines abstract and fluid pour techniques with figurative elements, starting with vibrant abstract textures that form the compositional foundation for his surreal works, exploring his unconscious mind.[1][3][6] Born and raised in New Zealand, Ingram has been drawing and doodling since childhood, beginning painting around 2003.[6]
