Boris Indrikov
About
Boris Indrikov is a Russian surrealist painter born in Leningrad (now St. Petersburg) in 1967. Introduced to art at a young age by his mother, who taught drawing, he initially pursued engineering at the National University of Science and Technology (MISiS) but left in 1990 to follow his passion for art. He worked as a book designer and illustrator for the popular science magazine Chemistry and Life from 1991 to 1997, while also attending art studios taught by professional artists. His principal influences are the masters of the European Renaissance from the XIV-XVII centuries. Indrikov views painting as a meditative ritual and the creation of parallel universes, describing art as the language through which one communicates with God.
