About

Anis Tabaraee is an Iranian contemporary artist born in Tehran in 1989, specializing in surrealism that merges Persian visual heritage, Qajar dynasty motifs, mythology, and modern themes of identity, womanhood, resilience, destruction, and cultural loss. She graduated with a BFA in Graphic Design in 2013 and an MA in Illustration in 2018 from Tehran University of Art, where she developed her distinctive style of distorting forms, layering textures, and using curly, circular shapes to create dynamic compositions often featuring surreal landscapes, fantasy elements, and concealed female identities symbolized by flowers.[3][2][4]

Contemporary surrealism with curly and circular forms, distorted structures, and Persian motifs reinterpreted through bold, expressionist compositions.
