Allan Linder
About
Allan Linder is an American contemporary artist born in 1966 in California, the great-grandson of Italian immigrants. He experienced a nomadic childhood due to his stepfather's military career, attending multiple schools across the US, and began winning art awards as a child. Starting in the 1980s in Los Angeles, he exhibited at Installations One Gallery, gaining acclaim with his 'Freedom' series on the fall of the Berlin Wall, featured in the LA Times. In 2000, he relocated to New York City, co-founding the Artists' Gallery in Chelsea, which showcased over 150 artists from 12 countries until closing in 2004. Linder blends traditional and digital techniques in his surreal-inspired cityscapes and mixed media works, with pieces in permanent collections like the Elmira Museum of Art and Rochester Contemporary Art Center.
