About

Ali Akbar Sadeghi is a renowned Iranian painter, animator, illustrator, graphic designer, and sculptor born in Tehran in 1937. He graduated with a BA from the College of Fine Arts at the University of Tehran in 1969 and began his career as an illustrator for newspapers, magazines, and books, including winning the Best Book Illustration Award in Asia for 'Pahlavan Pahlavanan' in 1970. He co-founded the animation department at the Center for the Intellectual Development of Children and Adolescents (CIDCA) in 1970, where he created notable animations and illustrated 16 influential books. In 1967, he established the Vitray Gallery, later renamed Green Gallery and Sabz Gallery, which showcased works by Iranian artists until 2003.
