About
Graduating from the Cairo School of Fine Arts in 1950, he held his first solo exhibition at the Museum of Modern Egyptian Art that year and later taught there as an assistant professor. In 1958, he studied restoration and art in Rome on a scholarship, shifting his style from mystical folk themes to images of technology, space, and modernization, reflecting Nasser-era nationalism. Dying young in 1966 at age 41, his prolific oeuvre blended surrealism, Egyptian mythology, and futuristic visions, earning him recognition as a key modernist figure.
